Pinkus Organic Hefe Weizen

ABV 5,0 %
500 ml bottle, bought in a bilologic goods shops. Ingredients are water, wheat, barley, hops nad yeast, all organically grown. Poured into a weizen glass.
Much smaller head than the one I was expecting, maybe two fingers in height, white in colour and very froathy in texture. Not much of a retention and no lacing left behind. Average activity in the glass. Colour is very pale yellow, slighty hazy but transparent.
Aroma of citrus fruits mostly, some subtle banana aromas, some clove and yeast. All those combined, give this beer a very nice aroma.
Taste is bubblegum, but again very subtle, also sort of grape-y, as it tastes quite like a white wine. It has a citrus sourness, which makes it very drinkable and refreshing.
Quite carbonated, leaves your palate slighty dry and on the body is medium thin.
Overall, "refreshing" it's the word that describes it best. From the pale look, to the smell, to the light citrus sourness, points on you to drink it on hot summer day, and you won't disappointed when you do.

Finkbrau Pils

I had crashed this one when I first reviewed it. Now, with my palate slighty more extended and a proper presentation, things were not so dramatically different, but at least, significally improved.

ABV 4,9%

Can of 500 ml from Lidl. Poured into a pokal glass.
Pours a deep golden yellow beer, with something more than two fingers of white, thick head. Heavy lacing left behind as the foam disappears very slowly. Medium activity in the glass. Malty smell, with mostly a grass aroma.
Sweet taste with a strong bitter aftertaste. Slighty metallic and hints of alcohol, although it's only 4,9% ABV.
Thin on the body with high carbonation.
Not so bad, especially if you take the price into consideration. It's not anything great either, but It could fool you on a blind test.

Vitalis Malt 0,0%

This is advertised mostly as a healthy energy drink, although on its commercial description states clearly that is a beer. I consider it to be a beer too, since it contains water, barley malts and hops, more importantly. A non-alcoholic one, but still, a beer. From an internet search I only found suppliers and that is made in Germany, from whom and where exactly I haven't the slightest idea.
Small bottle of 330 ml, poured into a standard glass. It produced a very dark brown beer, almost black. Non transparent at all.One finger of beige head, with low retention that leaves light lacing.
Aroma is very sweet and quite unique. I can't really tell what this smell is but it may be coming from the glucose/fructose syrup.
On the taste is very sweet, with some corn traces, although it doesn't contain any, at least according to the label, so I guess is once again the syrup responsible for this. Sweet on the aftertaste too, but much less now.
Medium thickness on the body, with almost non-existent carbonation, which is weird because even now I can see lots of bubbles rising to the surface. It goes down just like water.
Overall I am pretty confused with this one, I liked the appearance and the aroma, taste wasn't that bad but on the other hand I felt like I was drinking a soft drink that had gone flat, something that I didn't have with other non-alcoholic beers.

Salitos Tequila

ABV 5,9%

Another beer mix, and as with all the others this isn't anything special. A clean glass bottle of 330 ml. I poured some in a small glass just to witness the head and the rest drunk from the bottle. Colour as one can easily see from the transparent glass bottle is golden yellow. A thin white head which left me very fast, and so did the bubbles who were at first present.

Now, on  my bottle says that this is 58% beer and 42% soft drink, but it doesn't say anything about tequila, at least not in english or dutch. In other languages it mentions something about tequila, but I can't really get it. Anyhow, I personally don't smell any tequila, which is a good thing, I smell though a strong lime aroma. Well, that sums it up.

Taste is sort of sweet at first, but the aftertaste is mostly sour from the citrus.

Heavily carbonated and with a light body.

Not so much different than the other tequila flavored beers out there, maybe it's nice out in the sun, drinking it on a beach bar.

Salitos Mojito

ABV 5%

I think my first time I had this one was a year ago while I was having dinner with my girlfriend at a mexican restaurant. I couldn't possibly take any notes back then since I was in the middle of a dinner, but nevertheless I kept some mental ones, on which the following review was based.

From bottle. Colour is green-ish yellow.I liked the appearance and the way it changed under the light. Aroma of mint. Light taste, also mint, refreshing. I would honor it during the summer months if it was nearby available, still, I give it a low overall score since it contains less than 50% beer.

One year later, this beer mix is more widely available, at least in my city, since it's one of the new beers at the local supermarket. When I saw it I thought to give it another try. Also, coincidenly, my girlfriend is going again tonight to that restaurant for dinner ( I am staying home to drink more beers). This is my re-review, much more different than before.

330 ml white glass bottle with a twist-to-open crown cap, at home. This is surely made to be drunk straight from the bottle, but I poured it into a glass anyway. Colour is transparent green-yellowish, with a head that leaves the beer straight away. No bubbles whatsoever in the glass. 3,5
Aroma is of limes mostly with a subtle mint smell. 3
Taste is also of limes and mint. The mint flavour much more stronger on the aftertaste. Somehow, they managed to make it taste like a mojito, so whenever your girlfriend complains that "you only drink beer, beer, beer, try something else for once, for god's sake" you can order this one if it's available and pretend you drink a summer cocktail. Or just order your favorite beer and just ignore your girlfried anyway. 2,5
On the body is as thin as water, and quite carbonated, to the point that your first sip will make you think that you drink soft drink, or maybe an energy drink if you take the colour into account.Makes sense of course, this one is 58% mojito flavoured soft drink and 42% beer.
Overall, and after taking a look on the ingredients, I don't think I will look for it any time soon, too many chemical craps. I am pretty sure that if I add lime juice and a mint leaf into my ordinary lager it will be better than this.

Weihenstephaner Hefe-Weissbier

 ABV 5,4%
A bottle of 330 ml. Poured into a weizen glass with a capacity of 300 ml. This one pours great, gave me a huge white head, 4 fingers in height with great retention. When it finally came down, a thin strip of foam remained on the beer's surface. Pale golden colour, slighty hazy.
Sweet aroma of bananas and clove, less strong once the foam goes down of course, but still there during the whole drinking time, and quite pleasant.
Taste is also just a bit sweet and fruity. Banana flavour is the most easily recognizable. Other than that, some spices and yeast traces.
Rich body and as mach carbonation as needed. Leaves your palate dry.
A great beer, maybe I will seek it again after I finish my three other bottles.

This beer comes from the oldest brewery in the world as they claim to be, with a history that begins in 1040. I am sure it's pretty interesting to read, so go and look up their website. Or just click here . Or since I have already read it, I'll just tell you that a monk saint founded a monastery with some of his companions in 725, and they were granted the permission to make and sell beer, in 1040, although there are writings that kind of prove the mponastery was already brewing beer for a couple of centuries before that. After that, it's mainly invaders plundering the monastery, the monks deserting it because of earthquakes, plagues, invasions etc, then going back to rebuilt it and finally the German Purity Law was signed on the doorstep of the monastery in 1516. Then in 1803 all the possesions of the monastery were transfered into the hands of the Bavaria State. The End.
The brewery's beers have won lots of prizes, with the last of them being in 2011. For more details, again, visit their website. Cheers!

Finkbräu Panaché

ABV 0.8%

Bottle of 250 ml, I got 10 of those for 3 euros at the local LIDL. Alcohol is less than 1%, I saw somewhere that it actuall is 0.8%. A beer mix, containing only 38% beer and the rest is lemonade. Poured into a shaker glass, just a thin line of white head that disappeared straight away. Lots of bubbles on the glass's walls, as someone see on a glass with softdrink. Colour is light copper and reminds me of apple juices. If it ever had a beer aroma, is now covered from all the lemonade. So, just lemons on the aroma and as artificial as on other beers of the type. Very sweet taste, the lemonade flavour not as obvious as I expected from the smell, but it's certainly there. Makes sense afterall, 62% of this is lemonade. Very thin on the body, and very carbonated. Overall, hmm, if I hadn't poured it myself but it was given to me instead, I would bet my right hand that it was Lemon Ice Tea. Still, it's a rather hot day today and this makes for a great beverage.

The things I go and buy! This goes down as easy as water, almost no difference from an iced tea! I put some bottles in the freezer, it's quite hot today and this beer mix with its low alcohol content is pretty helpful. Funny thing, I was asked to show my identification at the supermarket, and the minimum age for alcohol consumption is 16 years old over here.
